Please could someone help me or advise me about Tradewinds? I'm stitching the mermaid on the left of the picture and I've been using the detailed chart that someone put on the forum some years ago, where the stitching is done over one thread. The bit that looks like the mermaid's hand wasn't included so I did it over one myself, but it looks very odd and out of proportion. Did anyone else find the same, and if so, what did you do?

But what backstitch/straight stitch should be used on the open edge of the gold plaited stitches. 3 sides of each are surrounded by the eyelets, and one is on the edge - the picture looks like something has been used, but I can't tell if it's the gold cord or something else.

I have the Janlynn Dragon Ride kit and I am confused at some of the instructions. In several cases, the key says to use one strand, then lists two colours bracketed together as a blend. How on earth do I do backstitch and half cross stitch with one strand of floss, but a blend of 2 colours?
