Please could someone help me or advise me about Tradewinds? I'm stitching the mermaid on the left of the picture and I've been using the detailed chart
that someone put on the forum some years ago, where the stitching is done over one thread. The bit that looks like the mermaid's hand wasn't included
so I did it over one myself, but it looks very odd and out of proportion. Did anyone else find the same, and if so, what did you do?

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum, but not to TW designs - I love her work. I've a query about her Tradewinds design. I've started to stitch the alphabet and the colour I've got for the backstitch looks wrong. It shouldn't be, as I'm working from a kit, so I know I haven't picked up the wrong shade. Has anyone else thought this and if so, what did you do?
I have a small area of skin/hair just to the right of the skin on her left shoulder (right shoulder as you look at her) which isn't charted on either the over-one or over-two diagrams on my chart (I have a chart, not a kit). The uncharted area is a small, vertical, parallelogram.
But what backstitch/straight stitch should be used on the open edge of the gold plaited stitches. 3 sides of each are surrounded by the eyelets, and one is on the edge - the picture looks like something has been used, but I can't tell if it's the gold cord or something else.
WIP:...
