Okay, if anyone can help me they would so TOTALLY be my hero I'm trying to remember the name of a miniseries I saw on PBS back in the late 90's It was set in about the 1930s or so... a British police inspector is sent to Africa (his drinking problem had gotten him in a bad odor with his superiors) and ends up investigating (much to effectively for some) the murder of a socialite. Dad and cat update

Well, we are on to Week Five. Dad had a sleep apnea study last week (we could have told them the results, but the study was needed to justify certian equipment he'll NEED). He'll go home with home oxygen, a nebulaizer for combivent (alas, the company already delivered that, I have one collecting dust he could have used) and a BI-PAP machine for nights.

We were hoping he'd be home by Wednesday, alas nothing can be set up without signatures and we are short one measly...

I'm working tomorrow (which if today was any indication will mean babysitting a cranky printer trying to get a good stock of counseling forms printed out, praying that a) the cartridge doesn't run out and b) someone donates a copy machine soon so it won't take me TWO FREAKIN DAYS to do the supply of forms I need) -- but on Sunday I'm going into the City for Mass at St Pat's, Sunday brunch, and an afternoon at the Met

One said I have to go to court to be evicted form the house. I knew this was coming because the EX lost it for us 6 month's ago to forclosure. We have about 3 weeks left here.

So, me mudder calls, tells me Bunny needs a Shakesperan quote with the word "" in it. So I promptly quote

Dead silence. Then "here's Bunny, tell her that, I need to get her paper and a pen". Then I hear muttering.

My Beloved Maternal Unit FULLY rocks.
Whenever I need something that I can't readily get here, Mom finds it for me (cheap! this woman woman doesn't just pinch pennies, she goes totally medieval on their copper hineys!), sends it, and then lets me settle up for everything at the end of the month.
For example, anything I need from The Silver Needle, or some more light warm-weather polo type shirts, etc etc

So I was thinking how way back in the annals of the TWBB history we used to have TWBFCs. Where in a group of 25 stitchers would exchange birthdays and addresses, moderated by one person (I can't recall who anymore). Then they'd send a lovely birthday card to everyone on the list with at least one skein of DMC. The colors were chosen by each participant listing one TW design or more they hoped to eventually stitch. Let's face it with the overlap of colors any TW color is a good...

Dad is back to having all his marbles (trust me, lack of 02 does funny things), but he will have to remain at the hosp for a while. However, he is no longer pulling on IV's and disconnecting tubing that must remain connected, or perseverating on things he cannot have (like a ciggarette)

Mum went back out to the cottage today, to be greeted by very loud, very prolonged, very angry and very heartbroken

HELP!! The new scanner my office acquired is giving me FITS. When the tech was here, he showed us how to do it, but from my notes I just can't make it work. I know that in order to be able to edit a document I've scanned in, it has to be in rtf -- fine. But when I put in .rtf at the end of the file name, then scan, then try to open with Word it either won't open at all or will open up a bunch of gobbledygook. Can someone who's used this application tell me step by step what...

I'm in the city...Dad went very suddenly into severe respirtory distress last night. He was ambulanced from the local hospital to a city one around 11 30.
He is not being given more then a 50-50 chance.

We just got back from the hospital again. That man has more lives then 20 cats combined. He'll be in hospital for a while, but it looks like he is going to pull through. They have got his BP and sats stablilzed...The biggest problem we are having right now is he...

much easier read on page 42 I think. there is a 10 year space between wicked and this. I'm gathering he listened to the "complaints" of people who had a difficult time reading it. It looks like this story can stand on it's own without needing to know Wicked.

As you all know, I fell off my bike on Thursday and wrenched the heck out of my left shoulder, arm and wrist, numbed my fingies, scraped the elbow and made an idiot of myself...not to mention the paperwork cause this happened on hosptial property....

So, all that not withstanding, I still had chores I wanted to get done this weekend: to wit:
1)Organzie craft cupboard
2) Re-organize storage side of basement
3) Put away winter clothes and...

So I've started biking to work. As I was going up the ramp yesterday, I went to get off Le Bike. Alas, my shoelace had come untied and wrapped around the pedal. So over I went, bike and all.

Today I am stiff like board, and btb, when almost 200 lbs comes down on the funny bone, the fingers will tingle for at least 2 hrs....

Do you have any weird phobias?

I have a couple and I have no idea where they came from. My worst is my paranoia about parked cars whilst I'm riding my bicycle. I am forever convinced that someone is going to fling open a door and knock me into a travelling car. The second (and oddest) is about doors. Whenever I go to open a door (usually a public bathroom door) I get that sinking feeling inside that someone is on the other side and about to open it and smack me in the fingers.
