OK so it's been 4 years since I bought these charts and I am finally perusing them since I'm doing this exchange you see. And well it list 4 colors for some of these designs. OK When there are 3 colors I'm fine. I get NS, LS, and DS. But when there are 4 colors there's VS, for "Vertical Stripe". However, my chart doesn't have anything resembling shading with a vertical stripe. In fact it looks like 2 colors have identical DS. I know I can figure this out...

patternsonline prices too low

I've noticed that the prices at patternsonline.com for your charts are lower than those for most other designers, especially since the other charts generally don't involve as much effort.

Have you thought about raising your prices?

Not that I mind paying less, but I also want to make sure you have enough chocolate and whatever else you need to be inspired to work on Illuminata.

Fall Carousel horse - backstitch question

Firstly, thank you for all your brilliant designs. The Castle was the design that first prompted me to start cross-stitching: one day, I will even start it!

Anyway, I am now doing Fall Carousel horse, and trying to backstitch as I go. My question is: should the outer edge of the blanket (cream border) be stitched in 869, the same as the outer edge of the collar? Also, what should I use for the small aqua-blue triangles the tassels are hanging off?

I joined today, and would like to say how much I have always adored your designs. I have quite a few, and the hours (usually days!!) of pleasure they have given me is hard to describe, but I am sure you hear this a lot.

I am now agoraphobic having retired on grounds of ill health from a 20 year career as a lecturer in computing, so have lots of wonderful time to do your designs. I recently found Floral Bellpull on ebay, and managed to secure it after fierce bidding and...

Hello I recently purchased your beautiful noah's ark cross stitch and am confused on how to even start. I have been doing cross stitch for years and have never seen the instructions say " cross stitch the main chart over two threads using two strands of floss." What does this mean? I started working on this just using each square as a stitich as I have always done, but by thetime I got down to the animals the squares are way to small for them to fit. this is stitched on 28...

Okay, I'm almost done with this, but the instructions tell me to attach beads after all other stitching in bands A, C, H, and I. I can see where beads are charted in bands C, H, and I, but not in band A. And I can't tell from pictures if there are any or not. So which is it? Are there beads that aren't charted, or is there an instruction for beads that don't actually go in the band? Thank you

Hello Teresa,

I have 2 questions regarding the Miniature Winter Samper.

First of all, I can't find anything about the backstitching for the over one part. I might be complete blind but I can't find it and have no clue in which color the back stitching is done. For the ice skates and the light I can figure out that this is one of the dark grey's, but I feel less sure for the parts around the face.

And there are 2 stitches where there is no color...

I'm reading general instructions for this lovely design and in the area "vertical border sections" number 2 b, I read : flowers 3726/3760.
Or I don' t see 3760 in Materials List.

Please, can you tell me what is the color that I must use ?

for keeping track of things I should have kept track of myself.

I bought Needle Guardian and I'm considering converting him to the color scheme I used in Futurecast. Unfortunately, though I found the overdyed floss I'd used, I couldn't find the color listing anywhere in my stash. Then I look at the twdesigns Futurecast gallery. Yep, it's there.

So, no question, just gratitude.

Have you seen the Patricia Allison Carousel design. I think it's an obvious derivative of your Carousel and probably a copyright violation. Although I also rather like it. It might make a good companion.

I'm not sure if I should tell you - or patternsonline.com. I bought there the Miniature Winter Sampler and ordered the silk online - which arrived today. And I was very surprised at the colorful look of it. When double checking I saw that the material list from Patterns Online says: Gloriana Silk Floss # 101 "Winter Woods". That should be #010.

#101 is Ada's Rainbow - and not really the correct color

Hello Theresa,

I just purchased the pattern for the Miniature Autumn Sampler. The shop where I buy my supplies carries 2 different lenghts of Gloriana Silks. Do I need 4 yard or 6 yard of "Fall Foeliage".

Same question also for the Miniature Winter Sampler and "Winter Woods" from Gloriana.

I see from your blog that you will be releasing the Miniature Winter Sampler soon. I'm really looking forward to stitching it because I love Miniature Autumn Sampler so much.

I have a couple of questions:
Will it be released through PatternsOnline, or through regular means?
Can you share which beads it will need?
Will it use the same fabric as the Miniature Autumn Sampler?

I'm asking about supplies because my mom is about to...

I've been watching your blog and I haven't seen any mention of your continuation on the horse prints. I'm so looking forward to the complete set of these, and was wondering if you've made any more progress. The peek you showed a long time ago was amazing and looked fabulous and me not knowing squat about art, seemed not too far from completion. So now that Winter is at the printers has a name etc. etc. etc. How's progress on the next one?

A designer on another non-yuku board posted about this website BB (I believe it's Chinese) as being a hotbed of illegal pattern sharing. I saw mention of Silver Lining, HAED, Stitchy Kitty, Heart's Content, Workbasket, Mirabilia and others we know. I have not found any TW designs but it is hard to navigate, and I don't know how to find the pattern links....there is just talk of "sharing" which is bad enough!...
