I am contemplating (mind you, only that ) to finish storyteller. I don't know if I posted the story here, I did on an other board. I made the prince into an elf (legolas) with a lot of over one stitching and stitched the whole thing in silks. It's finished minus the gold cord in the border because when I had finished the stitching and was clearing away the threads, I noticed the stitching had faded in comparison with the leftover threads and was so disgusted with the whole thing that I put it away in a box and never looked at it again.

The one and only positive on this is that I caught the not-so-lightfast silkies early and hadn't stitched more with them so far. I liked stitching with them and had already kitted up a few other TWs with the same silks and was planning more but hadn't yet started on them. Luckily. Let's say I'm cured from the silk addiction.

Sigh. There, I've said it. I'm still gutted, even though it's is several years ago.

The odd thing is, I've never ever heard anyone complain about fading silk before and I know a lot of it gets used. I gather the Chatelaine designs are quite heavy on silk, peacock tapestry has had some silk contemplations too and then there's all that overdyed silk....
And the other odd thing is that I'm even contemplating finishing Storyteller, because I'm not sure what to do with it even if I ever finish it. I can't hang it on the wall, maybe I can use it as the worlds most expensive floor cloth? (Sorry Teresa! It's not an insult to your designing qualities. It's just the floss.) Maybe it's just a mental thing, officially it's still an UFO and if I put in the gold cord it will be Finished forever and I can tuck it away even more thoroughly than it is now and need never be reminded of this waste of time...

Anyway, on a more happier note: I plan to give my stitching more TLC this year and that includes my TW WISPS (in reliable cotton this time )).
