Here is a photo of my Peacock Tapestry (named Peter's Peacock) all finished in its frame:
and here is my mum with her birthday present!
Quite pleased with the choice of Mahogany and gold as the frame, but not a 100% happy with the job the framer did. If you get close up there are a few issues, a few of the beads turned on their sides and the border is a little wonky in places so he didnt do a great job stretching it. He mentioned that he found the fabric soft and difficult to stretch, which told me that he wasnt used to doing cross stitch at all despite the signs in the shop, given that the fabric is Lugana 25 count, your usual tapestry fabric. Needless to say, I wont be going back to him even though it was a bargain price. I found out my regular framer had retired (she was fantastic) so I need to source another one in my area who can do a much better job than this for the future... (did I mention I'm a nutty perfectionist? )
Anyway whats done is done and my mum is happy which is the main thing!
