Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum, but not to TW designs - I love her work. I've a query about her Tradewinds design. I've started to stitch the alphabet and the colour I've got for the backstitch looks wrong. It shouldn't be, as I'm working from a kit, so I know I haven't picked up the wrong shade. Has anyone else thought this and if so, what did you do?

I haven't done this one either. But if you don't like the color, you should feel free to change it. Also, maybe you can look at other people's finished pieces and see if their color matches the one you have.

Hello Liz! I've stitched Tradewinds two years ago from the Leasure Arts kit and I didn't notice any problem with the alphabet backstitch color. The
final result was stunning! Teresa is such a wonderful designer!!! What color do you use? I'll check on my chart to see what was the one needed. Happy
stitching!

Same as Arthemise, you can change the backstitch color to something you feel to fit better. I often change the bs colors in TW designs because I like the
elements to stand out.

Thanks to all of you for replying and apologies for not having replied sooner myself - I've been busy stitching! I've now finished the baackstitch on
the alphabet and did it one shade lighter than the chart suggested. It looks good! I wonder if sometimes the dye isn't exactly the same with the threads
and just a slight alteration can change a colour from looking perfect to looking too harsh?

lizb wrote: Oh yes! dye lots make a huge difference some time!!! That's why I always kit a new project entierely and I never swich fibers for one project to the
other before the first one is finished. I'm stitching a BIG project (792x940) with lots of skeins of the same color (one symbol needs 14 skeins of the same
color!!!!) Even though this project will take me years to complete, I bought all the colors at the same time to be sure of the dye lot.
