Posts: 162 08/28/05 05:32:01	Tags : None Is there anyone here doing any Marty Bell designs? I'm working on Rose Bower Cottage. I'm stitching it as a sort of 2-person round robin with my cross stitch friend. It's my first Marty Bell and his 10th LOL. I started at the top right; boy there is a lot of sky there! Here is my progress sofar (sorry the picture is a bit dark). In my webshots you can see what the finished picture will look like. Posts: 1011 08/28/05 08:41:45	I started Miss Hathway's Garden the beginning of this year-my 1st Marty Bell. However I put it aside in March to finish my Rose of Sharon which I finally did the end of July. Since that finish I've started back on my rotation but haven't gotten to MHG yet. The end of this week I'll be done with my 2 week stint on Frederick the Literate, and I will be back to MHG for 1 week. I think I may have Rose Bower Cottage in my pile of MB books-it's very pretty! I have a lot of her charts waiting for me to stitch (way too many to list), but I haven't decided to start another one yet. I have too many charts calling louder right now. Cindy

And so is your other work. Kathy, your Miss Hathaway's Garden is just breathtaking! Very impressive. The way you framed it is so wonderful. I showed your MHG to my friend who has done 10 MB's sofar (including MHG) and he loves it too. Hope you will be posting progress piccies of The Abbey! I haven't made a lot of progress on Rose Bower Cottage lately, but will post a picture when I've made more progress. So much more fun to be working with different colors. Lot's of confetti but I don't mind. This one has 101 colors in total. I'm really enjoying it. Kathy, have you made any more progress on The Abbey? I've been working 60+ hours/week on overnights and haven't stitched a bit for a couple of weeks. My O/N stint is over though so I now have a 4 day weekend to stitch all I want. It was very reasonable as the kit had been opened but there was no other damage. I was looking at the finished project, jeanette, I think; really lovely. I am thinking like Miss Hathaway´s or The Abbey. I might try to avoid the oblong ones no matter how attractive they are, just because of the difficulty of self-framing them (or the price of a custom-made oblong frame if to be done by a professional). I love the paintings!!! I made an attempt years ago when I was still a teenager, with the Chaplain´s Garden, 2 over 1 on a 32 ct evenweave. But it was never finished. I did not have enough idea about stitching "discipline" before, as I do now. So I never got to finish my projects before unlike now. Posts: 162 11/01/05 07:03:56	Here is another update on Rose Bower Cottage. The picture looks a bit darker than it is in real life. I'm really enjoying it, such lovely colors to work with. Lots of confetti but I don't mind that. Making slow but steady progress. The flowers that grow on the cottage are so much fun to stitch. I have the week off from work so hope to make some more progress. Vincent, I hope you will join us soon stitching a Marty Bell. Miss Hathaways Garden would indeed be a great choice but it is quite big. It must be a very rewarding project. Your Far East Charm is looking great, won't be long now.
