We have a few very basic rules and guidelines to try to ensure the smooth and friendly running of this board.

The Rules of Netiquette
For newcomers to the internet, and even for those of us who have been around a while, one of the best resources for the basic rules of behaviour on the internet is Netiquette Core Rules.

Public Posting of Personal Information
This is a public forum and we have no control over who reads the contents of the posts. Posting of personal information (i.e. personal mailing addresses, phone numbers) is unwise and can be dangerous. Any posts containing this information, or containing a personal email address other than the poster's own, will be removed by the moderator of the forum or the board admins.

Illegal Activity
Illegal activity is not encouraged on this board. Any posts engaging in or encouraging such activity will be immediately removed.
Examples of illegal activity:
Asking for or offering photocopies of patterns or copyrighted materials (either in hard or soft copies).
Copying and posting of material from places other than this BB (please place a link to the quote instead).

Removal of Posts and Locking of Threads
Posts which are, in the opinion of the forum moderators and/or the board admins, deliberately disruptive, harrasing or defamatory will be removed.
Moderators and/or the board admins will try to be aware of threads that are becoming heated, and will post within the thread encouraging a calmer approach. If this fails, the thread may be locked or deleted in it's entirety at the discretion of the forum moderator and/or board admins.
The moderators and admins try to be aware of "spam" and delete it as soon as possible. If you do spot any we have missed, please contact one of us and we will deal with it as soon as is practicable.

Moving of Posts
Occasionally a moderator or admin may move a post to a more appropriate forum. Wherever possible this is done with the permission of the original poster, and is in no way a reflection on the poster, just a method of "housekeeping".

Complaints or "Issues"
The moderators and admins are always happy to hear from members of the board with any problems or issues arising from the board. Most of us have public email addresses, and those that don't can be sent a message to our ezinbox.
If you have a complaint about a post or a particular user, please contact the forum moderator or an admin explaining the situation and we will give the matter due consideration. Please try to keep these matters off the board. They are much better dealt with privately and cause less hurt feelings and disruption that way.

Banning of Members
Members who violate these guidelines repeatedly with malicious or disruptive intent will be banned from the community. Initially, members will be banned by username but repeated violation will result in a ban by IP address. Banning of members will be at the discretion of board Administrators only.
