I love seeing wip pics. I was able to get a bunch of greens done around the two daylilies I have done yesterday. So much so that even my DH (who doesn't really care about this kind of stuff) was impressed I'll ask him if he will take a piccy of it for me tonight - after we get back from the zoo. We're supposed to be taking my neice there today, but it's kinda rainy out - so we'll see what happens.... Anyway, I'm glad to see others will be joining in!! Erin in MI

I can actually stitch the Painted Lady butterfly, but I have this fear that I wouldn't want to get back to the flowers if I start on the butterfly : misako/ripplemis my Album or Album2

Posts: 715 01/05/08 23:20:06	Argh!!! I finally got my husband upstairs to photograph all of my things so I can set up a picturetrail account and guess what we forgot to do??? Flower Power!!!! ARGH!!! Oh well, I'll see if I can talk him into doing it tomorrow. It's already too big to drop on the scanner...dang. But I did get my account set up with some pictures, if anyone's interested. I'll put the link after my sign-off. Yes, we did get to the zoo today. My DH, sis and her husband, Mom and niece all went. Unfortunately, my mom isn't in the best health, so she needs a wheelchair to do these kinds of things. And another unfortunate thing is this zoo happens to be the hilliest zoo we've ever been to. So my mom and sis stayed in the aquarium while the 2 guys, my niece and I went to see what animals were outside during the winter. She really liked the monkeys But they sure did stink!!! whew! I've got to the point where I can do the hummingbird you did mis, but I want to finish as much as I can before moving the Q-snaps again, so that means more greenery for a while. Posts: 377 01/07/08 18:46:43	I am embarrassed to say this is as far as I have gotten. I had made the qsnaps as large as they can get and I think it was just too awkward and heavy to stitch on like that. I'm going to try to reduce the size of the qsnaps and see if that helps. I won't be able to work on it till next week but I'm actually looking forward to getting some real progress on it. The fabric I'm using is Summer Glade by http://www.enchantedfabrics.com/index.htm. Looking at your flowers made me realize I have to frog center of one of my flowers (the bottom one in your wip). I'm having a difficult time with % and the "reverse-%" (one is yellow, one is green) and stitched both with yellow misako/ripplemis my Album or Album2

Posts: 64 01/07/08 19:52:38	If you didn't mind marking your pattern you could get a yellow highlighter and mark the yellow percent signs with your yellow highlighter to help you remember which is which. Or do the reverse for the green. I can only imagine your pain at doing that! So frustrating!

But at least it's a small section and will hopefully go quickly I finally got to look at your WIP pic and it looks great. But I have a question about the ruby throated hummer's position. Mis, I noticed your hummer isn't nestled into the the flower petal like I did mine. Did you do that on purpose? Or is it supposed to be just outside the daylily?? Rebekah - you are going great! I can't to see more of your fabric, it sounds wonderful. I've been working on my hummingbird all evening and have the wing just about finished. I'm sooooo glad I changed fabric for this design - I was going blind doing the over-ones on the old 32 ct! Posts: 1163 01/08/08 19:40:59	I don't want to talk to you anymore Erin! : Mistakes seem to be mounting Ya, I placed the daylilies in the wrong place in relation to the hummingbird (and didn't even notice until you pointed it out). Since I refuse to frog the bird (and no way I want to frog the daylilies), I'll just have to fill in the flower where the wing should have been. Miss Illusioned - I don't mind marking the chart (I make a working copy) but I'm too lazy to hunt for a symbol and highlight it : Of course I probably will spend more time frogging the mistake, but .... misako/ripplemis my Album or Album2

Posts: 718 01/08/08 21:37:35	Oh mis, I'm sorry I said anything I always hesitate to say anything when I notice a mistake, because you never know how someone is going to take it. At least you'll know now what's wrong with the flower - rather than going crazy trying to figure it out when you did happen to notice it. And just think, yours will be unique I've been working on my hummer some more tonight. I'm doing all of them over-one, so it's pretty slow-going. But I will persevere!!! Posts: 719 01/11/08 10:36:04	Well, I've been busily working on my hummer every chance I get. Unfortunately, that isn't very much Yesterday I had just settled in for a good long stitching session when my mom called - her car had stopped working and she was stranded. So I go rescue her, take her to all the errands she was planning to get done (haircut, nails done, lunch, shopping) and didn't get home until dinnertime. Then I decided to take DH out to see National Treasure 2 before it left our local theater, so there when the evening. It's not looking much better for the next couple of days, either. Tonight is my quilt bee (can't cross-stitch there very comfortably - too much "stuff" to keep track of), tomorrow I'm going to an all-day LaMaze class with my sister (yup! she asked me if I'd like to be her back-up coach ), Sunday is laundry day, so there's some possibility there....and Monday is the day the new kitten in the house is getting fixed.... Man, it's a good thing I'm not working right now, or nothing would get done around here!!! LOL How's everyone else's progress going?? Erin in MI

Posts: 1165 01/13/08 19:45:37	How's the hummingbird going, Erin? As for me, after 5 agonizing hours, I think I fixed the flowers. Turns out I had to fix the center of all 3 flowers. The filled in petal looks a little droopy, but I think it looks OK. What do you think? I also realized that the hummy is too far to the right so I'll have to fiddle with the Dame's Rocket, but that's a worry for later misako/ripplemis my Album or Album2

It's all looking great As far as the Dame's Rocket goes, it'll be a lot easier to just leave out the stitches that the hummer is covering (rather than filling in) - so don't stress about it too much As for my hummer, I finished him on Saturday - whew! What a lot of work! And figuring out the backstitching was a little tricky, as the over-one chart I was using had no backstitching instructions. I had to improvise from the over-two chart...was interesting! LOL And, I finally got him scanned this morning - now to see if I can figure out how to post an image...Ok, apparently this is beyond me in Yuku-land.
